So many couples have got engaged in the midst of celebrating the holidays. You may feel it can be a lot to navigate, but that I’m going to help you figure out how to do it. Here’s a mini guide that breaks down into simple steps how to start planning a wedding during the holidays.
Tip numero 1 _ Get inspired.

Start the most fun part early, browsing on social media for style inspo to find what you really want and feel. Put together a mood-board or two and then narrow down the choice during the planning process.

Tip numero 2 _ Set a budget.
I know it’s not fun, but it needs to be done initially. The last thing you want to do is splurge on a venue or vendor and finding out later it’s completely out if range, with little left for everything else. If you decide to go for a wedding planner, they can help you setting it up.

Tip numero 3 _ Use holiday get togethers to celebrate your engagement and help with your planning.
Who needs an extra reason for celebration during the holidays? Engaged couples of course! Announce the good news and enjoy your engagement phase and maybe a party too. No doubt that December brings a busier than usual schedule, visits with family and friends and tons of reasons to host a party during the holidays, but one of the extra fun ones is to celebrate an engagement!

Tip numero 4 _ Don’t send Save-the-Date cards in rush of Christmas cards season.
The main reason why I tell my couples not to send their save the dates during this time is because you have a bigger chance of it getting put on the back burner during Christmas time. Also, so many packages and mail get lost during the holiday season, you don’t want your beautiful card to be one of them! If possible, I always recommend sending them either before December or right after the New Year. Bonus: You can start collecting your family and friends’ addresses!

Tip numero 5 _ Take advantage of the holiday sales.
All good sales to use to your advantage while you are planning! The most things that I see that you can purchase during these times are wedding dresses and suits, accessories, invitation suites, decor, and even some vendors run specials at the end of the year!
Most importantly do not forget to enjoy your engagement time! Take advantage of the holidays get-togethers, share the news in person, if possible, celebrate throwing an engagement party with your favourite people.
There are lots of reasons to host a party during the holidays, but one of the extra fun ones is to celebrate an engagement! So, if you’ve recently said YES with your favourite people.
Be prepared to share your beautiful proposal story with well-meaning family and friends who want to hear all about it and are going to share their own wedding planning experience. After that, you just need to put the champagne on ice and get ready for a great time!.
